Another key feature unique to the Aegis Security Suite is secure transfers. Most current backup programs on the market backup your data “in the clear.” What this means is that anyone who is watching your files being transferred over the internet could capture the files and view them. Obviously this is unacceptable since home users and businesses have sensitive data on their computers that no one else should see.

Aegis will transparently encrypt your files before sending them to our backup servers. Using 128 bit symmetric keys, no one except our backup servers will be able to decrypt the files. Even if a malicious individual captures the files being backed up, they will not be able to interpret any of data since it has been encrypted. You can rest assured that all communications between your computer and our servers are safe and secure.

As an added layer of security, Halcyon Computing Services will never view your files. Our company adheres strictly to the Privacy Statement and will never open any of your files as long as you follow our Terms of Service.
